Send Graduation Gift?

I have a friend that I used to be close to a long time ago, but I'm not anymore. We'll comment occasionally on a FB post here and there. I haven't seen her in person in probably 2-3 years. I just got a graduation announcement for her daughter. I'm torn on whether or not I should send something. Part of me thinks hell no since I've had no interaction with them in so long. Part of me says...why not? It's only like $20 to make someone happy and make a good gesture.
Question being, if I do send something, is $20 acceptable these days, or hella cheap? Other than my family, I haven't sent a graduation gift in ages. And for family, I always send $50...and $100 for godchildren.
