Sanders scares me though(injuries and the way he handled himself after getting paid)

Yeah, I don't think we are getting a max player like Durant or anyone like that.

I think we need to make a run at a guy like Asik and an average 3. I think Davis, Jrue, Ryno, and Evans is a good core to add a good 5 & 3 over the next few years and have a championship caliber team.

I would be very satisfied with this

Gordon will shock us all next year. He will be a fricking beast. He will assert himself as a co-leader with AD and they will become best friends. There will be a team meeting, after which Monty will finally be convinced of the proper way to use this roster. Anjinca will blow up this offseason and become a seriously legit starter, thereby curing some of our salary worries and our questions at the five. Likewisem Darius Miller will finally perfect a consistent, devastating 3 and substantially improve defense.

Seriously.

where would this leave us? who do we keep or get rid of? do we put reke back in his 6th man role or try to move him? I would be thrilled if Gordon came out and was a fricking beast but imo you would have to sell high right away

First, let me say I hope you're right.
However, there is a better chance that Paris Hilton is a virgin than Mr. Exercycle becoming a "beast" or Monty is suddenly stricken with the ability to maximize talent on the floor. But we can hope.

Ya'll would rather Asik than Sanders if the trades were equal in terms of what we had to give up/take on?

Frankly I'd be thrilled with either one as we'd be a far more complete team with a true center - I just think the upside with a freak athlete like Sanders next to AD would be amazingly fun and worth the higher risk.

Asik fits our roster better than Sanders. If you have to give up Anderson, though, we're not really improving.

I don't understand why Evans can't play SF. He played most of the season with two other guards on the court.

Also Holiday and Gordon can shoot so try should have some floor spacing.

Gordon played well this season just didn't have a $15 million season. Honestly if he could just get a few more calls and get to the line I think the perception of him would be completely different. The refs just hate his guts for some reason.

Obviously if we had to trade a talented piece of the team I would rather it be him due to his contract.

The biggest question I have for a Holiday/Gordon/Evans backcourt is matching up defensively. There are a lot of skilled SFs over 6'7". That's where I think Monty ends up playing a guy like Aminu.

Can Evans respectably guard the likes of Durant, James, George when bit matters?

But he is a beast with the ball in his hands putting pressure on the defense. A true mismatch.

Jester is just being contradictory at this point.

It just hasn't worked out with Gordon. It's best for everyone if they part ways.

Is it really, though? If you could just cut him outright, sure, but the CBA doesn't allow that. The stretch provision is a short-term solution with long-term impacts. Trading for shite contracts does nothing for you. Sorry, but taking on OJ Mayo doesn't help, either. Then you have people who believe that Asik is a possibility. He is not.

I guess I should just fall in line and grab a pitchfork.

Why? Do you think he gets more than $9-$10 million? He's a one way player. Yes he's elite at the one way he plays, but he's still one way and he's accumulated a lot of baggage in Houston. There are definite questions about his attitude to the point that I wonder how he'd like the "starting" role the Pels would have for him. On top of that, he couldn't stop Aldridge from knocking his team out of the playoffs. I'd say his reputation has taken a bit of a hit since his last 3/$24 deal. At the very least it hasn't improved and he'll be 3 years older. As long as the team moves Gordon, I don't see why Asik wouldn't be a 2015 FA target.
