...from Iowa and South Carolina

I guess he has to go for the evangelical crowd. I had high hopes for Jindal when he was first elected Governor. I hoped he'd go for the policy wonk angle and eschew the social conservative angle.

That's not what the article says.
quote:
In addition to his dinner with the pastors, Jindal delivered a well-received “call to action” address to 40,000 Christian conservatives gathered for Liberty’s commencement, talking again about his personal faith while assailing what he said was President Obama’s record of attacking religious liberty.

there is no nomination without at best a split evangelical vote. They dominate the republican party, and will for the indefinite future.
This is smart politics on his side.

Is Jindal Roman Catholic? If he is then he does not have to explain his Christianity to evangelical protestants.
This is really upsetting to Roman Catholics In my opinion. We do not have to explain our Church to anyone.

I don't think he's explaining our Church...he's just explaining how it became a part of his life
apparently that upsets people for some reason

Well I hope he explained them how he prays the rosary and talks about the importance of the sacrament of confession and the importance of the Feast of the Assumption and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in addition to teaching them how to pray the rosary decade prayer given to us by our Holy Mother at Fatima.
The Decade Prayer for the rosary, commonly known as the Fatima Prayer, was revealed by Our Lady of Fatima on July 13, 1917. She asked the three shepherd children, Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia, to recite it at the end of each decade of the rosary. It was approved for public use in 1930, and has since become a common (though optional) part of the rosary.
"O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy."

He explained to them that he realized he needed the Christians behind him if he ever expected to get anywhere politically in the GOP?
If his parents had immigrated to Massachusetts, he'd be a Democratic pol on the make who genuflects at the Kennedy altar.

Ehhhh, doubtful he would have gotten into politics.
I'm not sure what your point is either way. When he was cutting his political teeth, so to speak,
Edwin Edwards was governor and Bill Clinton was winning Louisiana's electoral votes.

Yeah, I did. A Rhodes Scholar running state agencies at 24? Yeah, I was excited to see what the future had for him.
And you're a fool if you think this was only a private dinner with 12 "politically active" pastors.
This was an evangelical Christian litmus test.
