I agree, when my boy was two, that was a good time.

My son is 2.5, and he can be quite the pain in the patooty.

I think it is highly kid specific. With my daughter, I would agree with this statement. However, my son, who is two, is a holy terror.

Wait for the Sarcastic Sixes..

agreed it's kid specific... my son just turned 5 and he's more defiant today than he was at 2 or 3... we also have a 5 month old, so it could be some showing out for attention.
either way, it makes for some stressful evenings.

I'm going thru this with my girl. It's unbelievable how snarky she's become. I've been laying down the law nearly every damn day which is rather draining because I hate having to punish her.
I love her too much to accept this stage of constant punishment as the norm.

Mine too. Some days it's a challenge to get him to do anything without a meltdown.
If the threes are much worse....yikes.

My 3 yo is much more affectionate and sweeter than when she was 2. That extra bit makes up for the tantrums.

My son is 3 and a half and never throws fits.
Sounds like parenting...

I am currently breaking my 2.5 yr old daughter from throwing fits. I have her fit time down to less than 2 minutes.
She'll fall out in the floor and start crying, but looking to see our reaction all sneaky like under her arm pit.
I usually walk out of the room and leave her on the floor to let her have at it. About 2 minutes later she comes stumbling up to me and gives the sweetest, "I'm sowwy daddy" you've ever heard.
Then I beat the ever loving shite out of her. Just kidding, we hug it out and the countdown begins until the next melt down occurs. She has about 2 fits a day...

or the slutty sixteens
or worse yet, the anal eighteens. they don't both start with an "a," but the first syllables sound the same.

Great thread. Bookmarked to read again later.

when she was 2, within a 30 min time frame she would have a meltdown about getting hurt, and another about not getting her way. If they were within the same 5 min, the meltdown would last the entire 30 mins. THIS WAS EVER 30 MINITUES
