Heading there for Memorial Day weekend for a family get together.
Wondering if I should drag my boat with me.
Launches?
Fishing?
Watersports?
I'm traveling from Baton Rouge.

well, back in the '90s it was a world-class fishery...many, many bass over 15 lbs were caught there...
I am sure there are still some monsters in there, but the hydrilla eventually got too heavy and they had to stock grass carp to eat the hydrilla....when I left La in the late '90s, the carp had eaten the vegitation down so much that the fishery started to decline a bit....but like I said, I don't think you can have a lake slap full of monster fish become all that bad...
I'd at least try for a monster or two while I was there...
fwiw, I'd bet if you look at the state largemouth record list there will still be a few on there from Caney...
also, good place to have a reunion...

that would be a good plan...

Bass fishing still decent. White perch, red ear, and bluegill fishing is also good. Lots of boat traffic in the summer.

Great place for this

Yes. The fish should be schooling and very good scenery around the lake.

Launches?
Two at the park

Fishing?
The bass will be schooling & some huge chinkapins can be caught. Some good night fishing also

Watersports?
The lake is very open for tubing & skiing. There will be a lot of traffic out there that weekend so be carefull & make sure you have all your shite together because GJs will be there.
