putting in my 2 weeks tomorrow

(other 2 week threads were locked)
I'm kinda nervous. I'm a contractor for a company, but I got a direct employment job with another company. I'm sure my boss will understand as contract work is so tenuous -- get out before the work dries up. If he tells me to take a hike, I'm okay with that as it'll allow me to go on vacation before my new job starts.

Thanks for letting me know. My thoughts are with you while you go through these troubling times.

That's understandable, but any good manager/supervisor would shake your hand and wish you the best.

For this thread to become remotely interesting , going to need to know:
1. Your highest level of education
2. What type of contract work we are talking
3. Your yearly pay as a contractor, pre tax
4. What you expect to make as a w2 emplyee, pre tax
5. What your planned speech is for your boss as you deliver your notice
6. Would you rather pile style nachos, or individual chip style nachos

I did the same last week. It was a burden off of my chest. I was super nervous going in, but my boss was cool about it and made me feel confident going out.

I think you should put in your two-weeks notice, and then stay on indefinitely after the two weeks is up. Just keep working day after day and see how long it takes for anyone to notice. When people finally mention the notice, just keep saying, "Man, I don't know what the frick you talkin about." Update this thread daily, ftw.

Thanks. I got laid off in the height of the Great Recession, experienced long term unemployment, and now I feel like I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting control of my life.

I cannot wait for this day myself. Two prospects on the line but nothing in writing yet. I am chomping at the bit to GTFO.
