For the first time since 1937, no Longhorns drafted.
Free agents? 1
During a 25 year exile in Texas, I endured those obnoxious TU & Cowboy fans bs. Know they are grateful they don't have to hear my commentary this afternoon.
Sad state of affairs in Austin.
Tiger total? 13

In a state full of talent that is almost impossible.

I just hope all the LSU fans making fun of UT for this realize how fast it can happen anywhere.
Not that there's anything we as fans can do to stop it, but one has to look no further than Miami, Nebraska, and Michigan to find traditional powers that fell on hard times. And pretty suddenly at that.

Anyone who's been an LSU fan for any discernible amount of time knows this first hand. We don't have to examine other programs.

It's just nice to be able to shut a Texan up...

so 75% of TD is unaware. Got it.

Schools with as many draft picks as Texas: Hogwarts, Degrassi Jr. High, Creighton, any school of fish, Fame, University of Phoenix, Kansas

It did make me smile I have to admit.
Yes, it can happen to almost anyone; and suddenly.
Does it result from having a coach instead of a leader?
Does it result from a coach having "worked the room" so much he's almost irreplaceable... till it's too late?
there are many other reasons...
Step 1- recruit
Step 2- develop
Step 3- win ______ (the blank is debatable)
1+2+3 = Sustainability. Lose one of those, it can come crashing down like a house of cards.
That's why I don't mind the CEO type coaches that surround themselves with a staff-team. For the record, I consider both Saban and Miles that type. Saban appears more hands on, but especially for Step 1 the key to his success is that group around them.

A bunch, BUT they had the #2 recruiting class 3-4 years ago, so it's actually quite astounding.

Yeah, everything goes in cycles. The only reason I'm a semi posi tiger is the fact that I do want to enjoy the success we have pumped out the last decade plus. I know it will eventually take a down turn so I'm not going to start shiting on Texas.

Exactly! A team with a losing record to McNeese that has never scored a TD in Tiger Stadium even had a player drafted!

With Texas and their streak being broken...
...the nation’s longest NFL draft streak now belongs to USC, which has had a player picked every year since 1939.
