When we recruited guys who can drive the ball. This team has to string too many things in a row to score. I thought we would steal and hit and run more with these guys but we don't. This is just an average at best long ball hitting team compared to other schools. And yes the bats make a difference but other schools are swinging the same bats and hitting a good bit more homers.

Bertman recruited men. Maneri recruits small guys. It's real obvious, but we don't even steal and hit and run much so why recruit these type of players.

NCAA didn't like the good ole days. Thats why they downsized everything from the bat to the jock. Now if the right team was dominating like we were there most probably would have stayed the course.

I would guess that stats don't lie.

We hit n run a lot, just not very successfully...
We don't steal very good either, usually a blown HnR that doesn't get thrown out...
Only thing LSU does real well is pitching, and that has been suspect at times...
Unless the bats heat up soon, I don't see a long run in the PS...maybe 6 games between the SECt and a regional...
Let's face it, this team isn't as good as last year's team...
As a long time Saints fan, I know the saying well,
"JUST WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR"...

with 25 home runs I think.

The BBCOR bats are the worst.

I didn't get to see much of Saturday's game but I did manage to watch Bregman and McMullen swing for fences they can't reach much less surpass resulting in two harmless fly outs.

When LSU went down by three last night the game was pretty much over.

Well, it could be another long one, but hopefully, not all the big arms being recruited go pro...will be a different pitching staff next year for sure, maybe a different hitting team, also, hopefully, not for the worse...all I can do is hope for the right things to happen!!!

Everybody misses gorilla ball.

Whoever decided to change the bat rules needs to be hung.
They've screwed interest level in college baseball all together.

This was lobbied for heavily by Big 10 commissioner James Delany who's made it his mission to make the Big 10 baseball competitive by diminishing the western and southern teams. He was the one who stopped warm weather teams from beginning their season earlier than they do now.

I remember the HR tally on daiquiris cafe sign when all this was going on.

I'll always love LSU baseball, but fact is, it just isn't all that fun to watch anymore as it once was.
