Sam is an attention-seeking liar

Just saw the clip.
He says that he just wants to be a football player. That he is a football player who happens to be gay.
Fair enough. I have no problem with him being gay and playing in the NFL. I haven't given it a single thought. Gay people have jobs all over America. Who cares?
Then, I saw the clip. He is a liar because he says that he wants to focus on football. But, in front of the ESPN cameras, he gets drafted in the 6th round and smears cake all over his boyfriend's face and kisses him with both of their faces covered in cake.
Has anyone EVER seen a straight couple do something that gratuitous upon a player being drafted?
No.
He is making a spectacle of his gayness to prove a point thus undoing every statement that he has previously made about him just wanting to be a football player.
The man can do what he wants. I don't care. But, don't say that you only want to be a football player and then do something like that. He knew what he was doing. ESPN knew what they were doing. They sat there the whole time waiting for that. Ridiculous.
This actually is not about him being gay. It is about him lying about his actual intentions.
By the way, I think he disrespected gay people by playing to some kind of stupid stereotype of silliness.

He is the first. He is breaking through for everyone else. I had respect for him for coming out the way he did.

But, then he does that and plays to every stereotype there is. it is ridiculous.
My guess is that gay people all over America cringed when they saw that. I don't care that his boyfriend was there. I don't even care that they kissed. That happens.
But, smearing cake all over each other and kissing it off of their lips? Are you serious?

Michael Sam is the best openly homosexual player in NFL history.

Dude, if I saw a straight guy doing that to his girlfriend on national TV I would think he was an idiot.
Sam was in a TOTALLY different position. He is trying to break through a wall and show that he can be gay and be like everyone else on the team and in the locker room.
It was stupid. I would not at all be surprised if a producer from ESPN put him up to it to make it a story.
