My neice (no pics) is graduating from HS next weekend. I need some gift ideas, $50-60 range. Don't want to get a gift card. She is going to LSU in the Fall, trying to think of the right gift but I'm stumped.

Shower kit. Stayed with two of my best friends in the past few months, and they still carry theirs around.

Cash is the only thing she cares about. Give her a long-wheelbased 10 and move on.

But seriously do cash. Let their own friends give their friends the creative gifts.

Get her cash. She wants cash to blow on senior trip. Don't be the person to get her a gift she really doesn't want. You obviously have no clue what to get since you're asking the OT and she wants cash. Slip a $100 in an envelope because she doesn't want the card either.

What she wants: Cash in an envelope (a card would be a nice touch, but only her parents will care)

What you should get: Gift certificate to the bookstore or something else practical. Yes, cash is practical. But she will practically use that the same way we all did when we were 18 (except as a girl).

They want cash. They like to pick out their own dorm stuff. They have high school trips. Girls want new clothes for school. I've been through 4 nieces and 3 nephews graduating from high school and now have one graduating from LSU. Give them cash. At that age, I promise you that $50 or $60 will thrill her.

I'm glad you saw the light.

You can give her something else meaningful when she gets married.
