"Punch Bug" or "Slug Bug"? I need a ruling on a game

I need help with an official ruling. On the way to the library, my youngest daughter hits both My eldest daughter and I with a "Punch Bug". On the way back, she gets both of us again with the same "Punch Bug". My eldest claims she can not use the same Punch Bug twice in one day. I say you cannot use the same Punch Bug within the same car ride. So, since we had parked and exited the car, the return trip with the same punch bug was legal. This is very important, and may go as high as the Supreme Court.
No pics, my daughters are 7 and 10

(1) It is called "Punch Bug";
(2) I think you made the right call.

Punch bug. Can also be modified for "one headlight."
And I never played with any rules.

Thats how I played it as a kid, and if it was red, it prompted another punch, if it was a convertible, it prompted another punch, and if it had a Mercedes front end, it was five extra punches.

Punch Bug
after exiting the car, you hit reset on the game.
Of course this lead to no holds barred on anytime you saw a punch bug. In a car, walkign down the street, on TV, in a magazine.

It is called "Slug Bug" and it only applies to the old Beetles.

1) go to bed and don't hang out around your kids while you have the flu.
2) 1 punch bug = 1 punch. Her getting both of you is horseshite, and you be sure to phrase it as such.
3) no really. You have the flu and you're hanging out with a 7 year old. That's very ill advised.
4) think of the rules like the rules of shotgun. Circling the block doesn't count. Exiting and getting back in, the same one is fair game.

Can't use it twice in one day. Your youngest daughter is a filthy fricking cheater.

A new trip resets the counter.
Only rules we had were to exclude cars which were always there, like a neighbor or at a business we always drive by. The only other rule was auto dealership don't count, new car dealers or used car dealers--something about hunting in a baited field: it's just not good sportsmanship.

Papa antiquetiger is correct here. Eldest daughter's rule is a given (otherwise a roadtrip alongside a beetle would be hell )

Punch Bug
One hit per car, so you can't hit multiple people with the same bug
Game resets when car ride ends
And I don't recommend playing this in Mexico. Apparently, all old Bugs were towed south.

ETA: And I've never heard it referred to as "Slug Bug". Communists must say that

Slug bug. Must be a regional dialect sort if thing...kinda like "soda" or "pop" or "coke"
Game resets each new car ride.
We always played it double hit for convertible, 5 hits for custom paint job (like camo, or that Shock Top one you see running around)
