First, I think we can all agree that Bobby Jindal deserves some credit for this development.

How old is RR? It looks young, and I would say the nicest 21st century new development in all of Louisiana. I was wowed.

I could be wrong, but it looked like there were a lot of variations/differences in the houses and less so a cookie cutter. Also, the amount of retail (also extending away from RR blew me away. Makes Metairie look like a complete dump.

Is this where the OT 7's and 8's of Lafayette live?

Finally, River Ranch > The Woodlands > Northshore

That's probably the third wealthiest area in Lafayette.

Why does Bobby Jindal get credit? I hope that's a troll.

Also, you'll rustle some jimmies with this thread. Some people hate River Ranch.

Exactly. Blanco was walking around putting lipstick on her face three steps behind all pertinent leaders of the free world during Katrina long AFTER RR was built. Bobby has NOTHING to do with it, and god I hope that was a joke to think he was!

They're apparently building another one in "Upper Lafayette".

Yeah, I think they're trying to force the development of that area. I think they've got their work cut out for them.

The farthest north I'd go is probably the St Streets

haha yeah I started the thread off with some levity. I know he didn't have a damn thing to do with it.

On a serious note, where are the other nicer areas of Lafayette? I'm not from there, and I was just doing a little driving around today. The new shopping center at I-10 and LA Ave. Very nice, got everything you need EXCEPT GAS and I was nearly empty. Kept driving down LA Ave. into the hood, then finally found that Racetrac in the median of US 90 before I-10.
