spent 6 1/2 months floating on this boat......

caught plenty blues, even some small tarpon and a couple pretty good size bull sharks...

good times in the summer/fall of 87.....

news story leaves out some noteworthy stuff too..

blue fish... longest stretch I was on ship without leaving was 27 days...

left for days at a time during that 6 1/2 months.

Not trolling, sounds like something that changes your life to live on a ship of that caliber for 6 months.

One gets accustomed to some of the old girls.

Thankfully my sentimental first sailing unit is now a floating museum. I sailed on the last floating unit to sing a German U-Boat.

I fired many a round out of that 5" gun.

No way in hell they could afford just the paint for something so large as the Sara.
