Not posting cliffs. Read the whole article. It's worth it.

Good read.

quote:

"What people don’t understand is, he knows a lot of football,” said Orgeron, the former Ole Miss coach. "He’s a master at his craft. Sometimes, really good recruiters kind of get pigeonholed as a good recruiter that can’t coach. Frank can do both of them.”

quote:

"I’ve had inquiries about head coaching jobs and even interviews,” Wilson said. "It’s going to take the right one, though, because I love where I’m at. I love my job.”

Do You guys think Wilson will have to be a successful coordinator or HC at a smaller school before LSU would hire him as HC?

I really like Frank (and Brick too for that matter) but HC is such a different deal. I'd like to see him somewhere else to see if he can run a program but damn I'd hate to lose him for that 3 years or so to see. Kind of a quandary.

I can't imagine LSU not going with a proven HC when Les leaves. If Frank really wants that HC job he is going to have to go somewhere to show he can judge staff hire talent, be the face of the program, handle the million and one internal issues that inevitably come, etc. imo

Great article. I get frustrated with Bama's success but LSU is really doing things right now and for the long term. Pay FW whatever he needs.

Oh and I'm glad they said something about his coaching, the guy is a solid RB coach.

Sorry Dr. Phil they are the standard right now with regard to recruiting and winning championships.
FWIW I believe that success will be gone once Saban pulls the pin.

Right, and we lost 3 including the Alabama game...again. They also had a higher ranked recruiting class.

They won 1 more game then us...although they did embarrass LSU in the second half. Our two recruiting classes were 2 of the highest rated of all time. I'll admit Bama is a half step ahead of LSU right now, but the penis envy some of our "fans" have is really unwarranted.

Not envy man, just plain ol hate. The school and the head coach. Like I said earlier, I think we are doing it the right, sustainable way and long term we win.
