I'd like a gas and water, or just a gas.

Seen them at any surplus stores around?

Yea, I don't want a metal one. Scepter is the brand, and they make all of the military ones now. Those old metal jerry cans look cool, but I'd rather a modern plastic one.

My truck gets really shitty mileage, so I'm just looking for a 5 gallon insurance plan when I head out on trails.

I think they imply different commodities, maybe some colors are for different forces.

Yellow is diesel, green is gasoline, tan is water...not sure the other ones.

I plasti dipped my bumper (and front emblem) last night, so the comment is sort of correct. I'd never do that to a gas can though.

And if you fill the colors with something other than what it should be for, label it. Clearly.

Searching for used ones I see the tops of green ones all spray painted yellow. I guess those were re-purposed for diesel.

So apparently the government doesn't allow them to sell new gas cans anymore...WTF? Good enough for the military, but not for the average citizen. Think the water and gas cans are different? I may pick up a 2.5 gallon water can in blue...

I don't want a metal one. Looks like $90 on ebay is about the best I'll do. Frick. The only difference looks like the lid.

Mil Spec Scepter fuel cans are now illegal in the US. Thank liberal douches for that. Best way to get them is used via ebay for crazy prices. Or drive to Canada (where they are made) buy and bunch and drive back.

The water can is legal to buy in the states but has a different polymer, wall thickness, and seal.

Eighty nine fricking dollars later...Oh well, I'll use it for my atv as well. shite though, $89 for a damn gas can. Now I have to get a $20 spout for it. Insanity...but to me it's twice as good as a metal one.

Once again, thank liberals/democrats for destroying something so simple as a gas can.

Scepters are the best. If I ever find myself in Canada I am shipping a pallet back.
