FLOTUS's response to missing Nigerian girls

If a sad duck face gets people to support the cause of returning these girls to their families I'm all for it.

In her defense, I don't think she's making the duck face. I think reading that before seeing the picture sets you up to perceive it that way.

Support how? A hash tag does nothing. I don't think terrorists are on twitter everyday checking out what people are saying about them. People take to social media to rant about the current injustices and then pat themselves on the back for being socially active. It's stupid. Something needs to be done about this situation, but sad faces and hash tags aren't helping.

Upvote. One of my biggest pet peeves.

Kudos to the people who actually do something in addition to posting about it on social media, but in my experience, the vast amount of "advocacy" that occurs on social media are just people who want to look hip, compassionate, and "making the world a better place" in between bouts of candy crush.

By getting the "people" behind the idea.

When the people are not behind the idea, the idea is much more difficult to execute. See Syria for an example of where the POTUS did NOT garner the peoples support.

I disagree. Because the people who "support" in this way, generally stop as soon as they hit send on a pic or tweet. They're not making calls and writing letters demanding action.
