I seem to remember that he wanted to go to LSU and we offered late or something? Help refresh my memory.

I would love to have him now going into this year.

That sums it up. We offered late and he stuck to his word. Hats off to him. Good kid.

Yip. If there's one position you can't afford to offer late, quarterback is it. He was an early enrollee too.

LSU offered Rivers over Dak during the summer. Teddy Bridgewater was on the board too along with Mettsiah

Came in too late to the game, plus we had Mettenberger as a clear starter for his first few years. At MSU he got some playing time and quick.

Would have been an interesting QB battle if he chose us this upcoming season.

It would have been really nice to have had Dak Prescott as a RSJR under Cam Cameron this year.

We can't get it all right, but when you miss at QB, it can really affect things.

Not really. He would be the clear cut starter.

Who was the other QB the coaches brought in to compete with Rivers and Dak for an offer? Think he was from Clinton

Yeah, Dak would have been starting this year for sure and probably would have gotten some time last year along with Mett in certain situations.

The kid is a stud and will only be better. I am pulling for him in every game except against LSU.

I am looking forward to the day when LSU will graduate a Senior QB and have a junior or sophomore with real ability take his place. Jennings was supposed to be that guy but he is getting beat out by a true freshman. Hoping this isn't 2008 all over again.

Really makes one wonder as to how Les stuck with Stud as his OC for two years with no QB coach.

Was kind of a lame duck with his condition, no?

He might have been, but can anyone tell what kind of difference he made? I think that he might have been more limited than we knew.

At any rate, the combo of Kragthorpe and Stud did not work very well.

And, yes, to the poster above, we have Mett come in as a Junior after Lee/JJ left as seniors. I guess that the whole Lee/JJ thing was so frustrating that none of that seemed at all stable. Really, I am just wanting some form of stability and progression at the QB position. Maybe that is asking too much.

That's rare throughout college football these days.

It was obvious Mett wasn't ready to take over. Part of it is play calling, and part of it is QB development. I'm hoping we can get the kind of consistency that UGA gets with QBs. Also, Dural and Peterson would have been more developed for this year if not for injuries. Hopefully Dupre and Quinn can use the summer and fall to get starting spots.

an individual on the offensive side of the ball told a person close to me that there is literally no difference between what Kragthorpe tried to teach Mett than what Cameron taught him. Mett just grasped it better.

Maybe delivery was different, or Mett matured. But it was the same message.
