Some of you guys went to Seattle several years ago for the Washington game?! I am headed there at the end of the month for a week of sightseeing and fun while my wife is at a convention for 5 straight days. Ive never been west of Fort Worth TX.

What are some things that I need to do while I am out there?? I am headed to watch the Mariners-Tigers game one day while I am there but I am looking for some other cant miss things to do the other 5 days I am out there. Bars, restaurants, tourist stops, golf courses, natl parks, etc etc. Please advise

...There are two fun excursions I went on when LSU played in Seattle.

The Boeing airplane plant in Everett, Washington is very interesting.

I also took a road trip to Mt. St. Helen's which is several hour drive to the south. It's been 30 years and the landscape still looks like the moon. The trees there are still in splinters and the mountain cap is reforming.

Underground city tour was cool. Fish market. Original starbucks is there if that tickles your fancy. Kick homeless people since they are everywhere. Space needle is ok.

Oh and Mount Rainier is cool for hiking but isn't exactly around the corner.

honestly, that was one of the most enjoyable away games I have ever attended...mainly because the area is unlike any I had previously visited...

gotta go to the fish market where they throw the fish....the whole area is pretty cool..

need to see if this is the time of year to go on a whale watching boat....

I can't remember the names of the place, but there were some decent places on the water to eat...one was called something like "acres of clams"...

check out the Jones Soda factory...located right there in seattle...

Space needle tour....

I'll think of some more later...

We didn't do too many touristy things when we went for the Saints/Seahawks game. We definitely did the fish market thing which was really cool. Spend an afternoon walking around and get lunch out there. The throwing the fish part is cool but there's so much more out there that those vendors are selling. All kinda random nick-nacks.

Wish I could remember the names of the bars we went to. We got a little rowdy. We also went to some fine arse steakhouse. It was fire. I'll look around for the name and try to get back to you.

Have dinner one night at Salty's on Alkei Beach for a great meal and amazing view of the city. Pike Place Market is really cool if you're into food and the bikini baristas at the drive thru coffee huts were awesome.

Daniels, and it was the best steak I ever had.

I can't remember all the bars we were thrown out of. Gonna have to do Chicago this year

is just the original post deleted, or is everything in the thread deleted?...

if the latter, I would guess that old threads are gutted just to save server space or something like that...

regardless, that was a treasure of info about that area...

Take the clipper to Victoria.
Museum of flight
Drive to Snoqualmie Falls
Catch a Mariners game if in town

Go to Pikes Place Market, only because everyone else does. It'll be a disappointment though.

Drive a short distance to the Cascade Mountains. Also, visit Pikes's Market downtown.

Salmon/steelhead are running if you like to fish. Plenty of guides in the area.
