Bank of America/Merrill Lynch downgraded the stock two notches to "underperform" from "buy" and sliced its price target to $7.
The firm cited concerns about Chinese share, Samsung LCD phone sales, and limited LCoS microdisplay-related news from Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT).
The downgrade comes just two months after Bank of America/Merrill Lynch named Himax its top 2015 pick among display IC vendors.
