Include some videos and links below please. There will be 50+ officers there from across the state. The topic states
"Topic is intended to offer officers who come across dogs on their daily duties a better perspective on their canine encounters"
"Officers should be capable of overcoming Their fear of dogs. Keep in kind a dog can be controlled. "

No firearms allowed on the premises I hope. Lot of nervous trigger fingers looking at pics of dogs...

At what part in ur presentation do you release the pack of Pitt bulls?

Shouldn't they just call it "target practice"?

I don't have any vids or that kind of thing...but I can offer some perspective from work...
always rattle the gate before you go into a back yard...dogs listen for this like an alarm system...
generally, if a dog is barking with tail and ears up, you are ok....if ears and/or tail drop, watch out...
never trust a dog who is making no sound at all...chow dogs and siberian huskies don't bark much, but will bite your arse without warning...
dogs' temperment often completely changes when the owner shows up...many guys at work have been bitten when standing on the porch beside a friendly dog...owner opens the door and the dog will bite without warning...
fwiw, the best dog spray in the world is a full can of wasp & hornet killer...I have seen it stop a 2000 pound bull in his tracks...
high-pitched whistles and horns (that dogs can hear, but people can't) are not effective...
one thing that is effective and shows promise is an umbrella-type device that opens automatically when you push a button....they will confuse a dog long enough to get away...
ETA: every owner thinks their dog won't bite...every owner is full of shite...

-If it is a golden retriever, it isn't going to kill you

They should get some former mail carriers and paperboys from the 60s and 70s to teach the class, they didn't seem to have any dog issues during that era.

the conference and the entire topic is based on police and dog encounters.

Ad some point the following needs to be stated:
If you fear for your life because a lab or retreiver runs at you YOU ARE A MASSIVE PUSSY AND WILL BE OPENLY RIDICULED.

I don't see why they don't just use a stun gun or pepper spray on dogs anyway..... Instead of straight of killing them

If my ex worked at animal control for 5 years and never got bit, I think some cops should be able to do the same

Can you fricking imagine a couple dozen cops shooting up a slideshow after a picture of a family pet pops on the screen

It makes me laugh to think you believe cops care about dogs. They are fully cool with shooting a human, why would they give a rats arse about shooting a dog.
