Izzo's In Prairieville Announced

My short list of wishes has come true for the new Leblanc's shopping center.
Baton Rouge-based Izzo’s Illegal Burrito has reached a deal with the Lagniappe Center at 14639 Airline Highway to open its first Ascension Parish restaurant in the center this fall. "We have been looking into Ascension Parish for a while now and this location just made sense,” says Izzo’s owner Ozzie Fernandez in a press release issued this afternoon. Fernandez says the restaurant in Lagniappe Centre, which is anchored by LeBlanc’s Frais Marché will measure about 2,600 square feet and include a patio. The restaurant will be Izzo’s fifth in the Capital Region, with the other four all being located in Baton Rouge. The deal was brokered by Alex Knight from Donnie Jarreau Real Estate, who represents the owners of Lagniappe Centre, and John Moss from Retail Specialists Inc., who represents Izzo’s.

Why can't I get an Izzo's in Funroe? Would instantly be the best burrito in the Twin Cities.

They were pretty close to opening a location on tower drive. After a year plus of meetings and discussions the owner decided to go to the Shreveport market first. Not sure when Monroe will happen now.

We used to have a Moe's and I loved it. It closed after a couple of years though. The lack of a drive-thru and the menu that you had to decipher were probably off putting for a lot of ppl. Don't know who thought naming burritos a Joey bag of donuts and a home wrecker was a good idea.
