I am working on refinancing my house. My insurance rate is unbelievably high, thru Texas Farm Bureau.

Question is, anyone in this area or Texas know of insurance that isn't crazy expensive.

Right now, it will be around 2300 a year.

I was under the impression that my monthly mortgage payment was going from 1149 to around 950. Now they are saying its gonna be 1050 due to the insurance rate being so high.

I am new to all this and need some help guys. Make fun if you want but this is killing me and I don't even know what questions to ask.

Thanks bros

If this needs to be moved to the money board then I am sorry for the mistake.

I just did insurance shopping in Tarrant. SF was the most expensive but there is an agent up near Lake Worth (boat club rd) who apparently got my realtor a rate comparable to everywhere else.

We went with Ameriprise because they were the cheapest but that was with a Costco membership discount. Otherwise, Liberty Mutual was the best deal for home/auto.

Good luck

While you consider $2300 high, that's low compared to what I have to pay.

And State Farm can go to hell after pulling out of writing policies in LA, even for existing customers.
