This is how my interview with him would go:

Me: Are you Monty Williams?

Him: No.

Me: You're hired.

And you don't fire him until you have it in writing that Jackson will take the job. But, he's going to get hired by the Lakers or Knicks or one of the other much higher profile jobs.
Please come true

why is Jackson an upgrade?

IYO
Get virtually anyone instead of Monty Williams, and the odds that you're upgrading are pretty good.

Jackson is just a better version of Monty. We don't need a players coach, our team always plays hard. We have a very unusual roster and we need a coach who's going to be able to come up with schemes to compliment that talent.

Also Jackson is a douche

I'm convinced half this board could do a better job with an advanced analytics lackey following him/her around. Not joking.

In the middle of a playoff series, he made an adjustment to play Draymond Green on Griffin and go small. In what world or alternate reality, would "etched in stone rotations" Monty, allow himself to make such a crucial move to breath life back into the series? Truth be told, I actually see them as fairly similar. Give me the guy that knows the view of the game from the perimeter over the guy that views the game from the trenches any day of the week in the modern day NBA.

That defines it all. Knowing rotations and setting the tone of the game is how you rip a win away when you shouldn't. They played a VERY hard 7 game series and came short against a very good LAC team without their starting center.

Now let's talk about context. We had a shite roster for 2 years and major injuries all along the way.

Names?

Not trolling, I seriously want to know who all these better/available coaches are.

Keeps you coaching.

Those ORatings and DRatings from 13-14 are exactly what Monty wishes he could achieve. Monty SACRIFICES offense at the expense of "defense" and he can't even keep his team out of the "bottom 5".

I didn't read anything about relationship with management in those stats, which is what got him fired.

To be fair, it sounds like being on bad terms with everyone in the Front Office, the Owner and even your coaching staff gets you fired.

You are telling me that there aren't coaches out there that could have helped this team compete better this year? You still had Anthony Davis, who was other-worldly, Eric Gordon, and Tyreke Evans for most of the season. Give me a break. People keep harping on the injuries but never mention the fact that we still had good healthy players in crappy roles.

Yeah, cause management is going to come out and say, "we didn't think Mark was producing the way we thought he would" when all of his players love the guy. They had to window dress their firing somehow and that was easily their best go-to that couldn't be refuted.

Without the window dressing, people would be wondering what the hell they were doing.

Dude, there were rumors of his impending firing months ago, and it was all related to management hating him. All reports today relate to his paranoia with Warrior brass. You're ignoring the only evidence available.

No, I'm saying clashing with management and being an arrogant prick in sports is nothing new. He did his fricking job this year and got canned cause management didn't like him.

And you're judging their decision without knowing the surrounding circumstances. He apparently burned every bridge within the organization.

It sounds like GSW management wanted their hand in the cookie jar instead of letting him do his thing. That's moronic considering the results. You think Benson has a problem giving full reins to a coach? Hell no. Look at CSP. Hell, look at MW. That idiot still has a job. Benson wants to win. Jackson would bring those results. He promised to turn them into a top defensive team and he did. Monty promises to focus on defense and we're finishing bottom 5.

I'm basing my opinion off of reports dating back months. Reports that often overlap between reporters local and national. You have zero basis for your belief that they disguised their performance-based firing with their inability to coexist with Jackson.
