In the event of a miracle/Valvano/2014Auburn style journey to the World Cup Final. Would you attempt to fly to Brazil to see the match?

Really 2 questions:
A. Would you have the desire to go?
B. Would you have the means to go?

Tickets would be outrageous, hotels are already booked so you'd better plan on flying back the same day, good luck. Every flight headed to Brazil after the US wins their semi-final will be slammed.

Would all of that be worth seeing something that may never happen again?

I would do nearly anything to make it. I think I could make it happen also.

That is a once in a lifetime opportunity IMO and would make it work.

It would be a major possibility for me. I could convince work people to let me go, would pull money out of savings, etc. The hotel would be the one thing that would be problematic, as I would want to stay for a couple of days at least.

Desire? Yes.

Means? Yes.

Willingness to have my desire part me with that much of my means to make it happen?

Probably not.

If you don't have a wife and kids you'd have to get down there somehow. Sleep on the beach if you have to. Maybe get a really good tan between now and then, though. Try to blend in a bit.

This. I have the money and the leave time built up. I could make it happen, but I'm also taking a trip to Alaska the last week of May. Not sure I want to spend that much money in such a short amount of time.

Unless I bought tickets early for face, I wouldn't have the desire or means to go.

Parties in various USA cities would be a lot more fun anyways

It would be hard not to go. I guess you could just sleep in the airport if you really wanted to.

Hell no. Too much of a hassle to go to such a country like Brasil.

If the final were against Brasil in their own pitch, that would be tempting though. I love hostile environments as an Away fan.

Brazil vs USA final might result in the most expensive tickets in history. Not to mention the most watched thing on TV ever.

The World tunes into WC Final every year, usually regardless of the teams. Add the sudden massive American audience and you've got the World Cup + The Super Bowl. The only way to beat it would be India or China making the final some time in the future.

On second thought, I wouldn't be able to go because I don't have a passport.
