Just saw South East Louisiana is about to lose it's only Ethanol-free producer.

Seriously I get that cars are fine with corn-gas, but that crap ruins small engines.
Lawnmowers, generators and boats are all having carb issues, and it's proven that E10 and E15 destroy outboards.

This corn gas stuff needs to stop.

Agreed. It isn't going anywhere though.

The corn lobby has that shite on lockdown. Our engines are fricked.

I only put non-ethanol in my truck and get an extra 15% or so in miles per tank.

Thnk George W. Bush for pushing this shite on us. He made gas more expensive, harmed our engines and decreased MPG, and grew gov't with the EPA and brought about more crony capitalism with big AG just by signing his name on a piece of paper.

I don't understand why more diesel vehicles aren't being made.

In the US, so many restrictions are placed on Diesel making it more than high grade gas, which makes it less appealing to the consumer.
In Europe Diesel is cheaper and more common.

Agreed. Methanol is a much better additive. What other country uses a food source as fuel? Hint: none. Hopefully we will follow Asia and choose Methanol. There is a plant being built in Geismar, La that is intended to manuf methanol. Maybe they know something we don't. Here's hoping.

The emissions restrictions the EPA has imposed on domestic diesel vehicles reduced their fuel mileage by about half of what other countries get.

My truck used to get 12.5mpg on the highway. I got rid of all of the EPA garbage, and now get 24mpg if I go 75. That's a difference of about 300 miles per tank. Yeah, what they have implemented works so well

It's seriously wreaked havoc on my boat and a few friends boat motors. I learned my lesson quickly and stupidly I might add.

My Evinrude 70 won't start. Time to clean all the carbs again. Just did my lawnmower this morning.

It's a pain.

Have you seen what the EPA has done to the diesel diesel engine!

Methanol is the future. No subsidies needed since private companies are willing to make it because of demand in other markets. There are multiple companies that are outfitting ocean going vessels based upon Methanol fueling. The lobbyists and government will never go for it though.

And do a far better job of it than we do. Brazil is the only country that's getting a positive return on it (depending on who you talk to).

The EPA is a bunch of fricking idiots. The amount of emissions that go into producing the corn that goes into E10 far offsets and "renewable resource" advantages.

Oxide emissions controls in motor vehicles is poor anyway. Unfortunately, that's where a big portion of air pollution comes from.

Corn syrup gas ruined my brand new Briggs and Stratton mower.

I have to drive 10 miles to find pure gas but it's never been the same after putting corn in it.
