LSU Baseball Stats and Rankings (Updated as of 5/5)

It isn't pretty but this is going to be an entire review of their stats with rankings for this season up until today. LINK
For the record, Paul Maineiri is a great coach. He is finding a way to win with less talent then we have had in a few years. Our bullpen isn't great but it is young. Our lineup is decent but also young. We are finding ways to win more games than we should be and the stats will prove this. This is a solid team but compared to last season, not even close. Sorry, but Mason Katz, Ty Ross, Ryan Eades, Chris Cotton, and Raph Rhymes are about as big a loss to the program as Mahtook was by himself a couple years back.
The fact that we are talking National seeding right now is icing on the cake. We should all be thankful we are in this position to begin with. We have been ranked 20th or higher every single week since the beginning of 2011. In three seasons, we have been ranked in the top ten the majority of the years. In this day and age, that is gravy.
Look at who is coming back next season too...
Alex Bregman, Andrew Stevenson, Tyler Moore, Connor Hale, Jared Poche, Parker Bugg, Mark Laird, Jared Foster, Kade Sqcivicque, Jake Fraley, Danny Zardon, Zac Person, and a few more that I don't feel I need to mention, you get the point.
Joe Broussard can return for another year too, he is only a Junior.
Russell Reynolds returns as well.
Don't even forget about the power coming to campus next year (Projected to come to school and not go pro)...
Beau Jordan, OF, Barbe HS
Bryce Jordan, 3B, Barbe HS
Jake Godfrey, RHP, Providence Catholic HS (Illinois) LINK
Mac Marshall, LHP, Parkview HS (Georgia) LINK
If Mac makes it to campus like the rumors seems to say he is (An Alex Bregman type deal) then LSU is going to be pretty good next season.
Team Stats (National Ranking, SEC Ranking)
Hitting
Walks - 180 (82nd,6th)
Batting Average - .274 (122nd, 9th)
Doubles - 83 (61st, 4th)

Hits - 437 (89th, 8th)
Home Runs - 24 (59th, 5th)

Runs - 285 (43rd, 3rd)
Sac Flies - 28 (15th, 4th)
Sac Bunts - 47 (41st 2nd)
Scoring - 5.8 (67th, 4th)
Slugging Pct - .387 (81st, 6th)
Stolen Bases - 37 (199th, 11th)
Triples - 13 (57th, 2nd)
Pitching
ERA - 2.63 (16th, 4th)
Hits Allowed Per 9 IP - 7.23 (11th, 4th)
Walks Allowed Per 9 IP - 2.94 (42nd, 7th)
Shutouts - 13 (2nd, 1st)
Strikeout-to-Walk Ratio - 2.44 (36th, 8th)
Strikeouts Per 9 IP - 7.2 (76th, 7th)
WHIP - 1.13 (13th, 4th)
Individual Stats are about as bad as they have been in a long time. So I am not going to type them here, if you really want to go see them, click the link and examine yourself, they are pretty ugly.
Aaron Nola leads the SEC in Strikeouts, WHIP, and Strikeouts Per 9 IP (10.72). He is second in the SEC in ERA, Hits Allowed Per 9 IP, games started, and Victories.
Outside of him, it isn't fun to look at.
Our best ranked stats are Sacrifices and Triples
Christian Ibarra - 12 Sac Bunts (22nd in Nation, 2nd in SEC)
Sean McMullen - 6 Sac Flies (28th in Nation, 3rd in SEC)
Andrew Stevenson - 5 Triples (22nd in Nation, 2nd in SEC)

Josh336? Anyone want to join in?
I honestly have no link, it is just based off the kids overall attitude towards the program. I could be wrong but if I had to give a percentage of his chances of pitching in purple and gold, it would be closer to 80%

Theres probably a 5% chance he goes to college.

Apparently he is buddies with the Jordan twins at Barbe HS now, it doesn't guarantee anything but it doesn't hurt.

I'm not trying to be my usual douche, but do you have any clue wtf you're talking about right now?

Is he your 2014 Justin Williams? It's not happening. Deichmann is the closest thing to a Bregman situation in this class. Good bat, but has questions about what position he will play...which in turn makes it more uncertain how valuable his bat is.

That doesn't mean anything. Nick Longhi was friends with a number our players on Twitter.

I really hope we're wrong, but the only good thing for us is the draft is so deep with good arms. I guess it's possible he could slide if they think his price is too high and there are others with similar upside available.

Only problem is he is a lefty with a 94 mph FB, they got him in mocked in second-third round

Throwing around percentages of Mac coming to LSU is just idiotic at this juncture. Too much to happen before he signs with MLB. And even once any number of those things happen, it will still be very unlikely he makes it to campus.

I've seen mid to late first.

I'm going to focus on the other high potential pitchers that we have a chance of getting on campus.

Still think Justin Williams was nothing more than hoop dreams for me. I honestly didn't think he was coming here, I was merely hoping he would.
Mac seems more likely than JW, just saying

1% is higher than 0%, so you might be onto something.
