Updated the OP but for some reason thread got serious anchor. Original thread LINK

UPDATE:

Ended up not having to pay for the food which was fine. It was absolutely horrible anyway. Whoever paid for that got absolutely ripped off on the buffet. Food was bland, not seasoned. Crawfish were full of mud, like they didn't even clean them before boiling.

DragonSmoke was weird. They had some small child playing with them the entire time it seemed. None of us knew any of their "songs" and just seemed it was a bunch of dudes playing and it was just thrown together.

I felt like I needed to be on acid to enjoy them and their Windows 95 screensaver show. Me and the date were confused. It wasn't full at all and place was pretty dead except for a few hippies.

I had no idea who any of them were. Somebody told me Aaron Neville's brother was up there on the keyboard. Hell if I know.

Was it Saturday?
I walked by and it looked like it was empty.

Crickets were chirping. We left at 9:30. I told homegirl I had enough. I had no idea what type of music that was. I called it Garage Jam Band.

Not trying to derail here, but how can a restaurant that's only been open for a little over two years host their 7th annual crawfish boil?

About what I would have expected from that place.

They should have hired one of those 80's cover bands instead of those real musicians. At least you would have known the songs and could sing along.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what exactly about this thing would have possibly struck someone as being a 'can't miss' type event.

The lesson here (as if we didn't already know) is never go to Manning's under any circumstances.

I think there was a crawfish boil happening on the property before Mannings was built, and Mannings just annexed it and called it their own ? something like that

OP- did you see the young kid playing guitar? He's some fairly famous little (11 years old) musician.

I had brunch Sunday at Slim Goodies and ended up talking to him along with his mother. Seemed like real nice people and obviously has a very bright future.

I lived in the neighborhood for over 4 years and that was my first time, and it wasn't my choice.

That was my first mid-rare waffle.

Yeah Brandon is sick. I watched him play for the first time at The Maple Leaf last week.
