Cuban liquor name change?

Anybody know why they changed the name to Bin-Q (obviously a play on the former name)?
Supposedly there was no change in ownership.
That Cuban Liquor sign was iconic. New sign sucks.

I saw that last week, but read it as "Q-Bin" (didn't notice a sign on the building, just the free-standing sign). I thought it was stupid too.

Their facebook says it was a trademark dispute.

Didn't they change from Cuban Liquor to Paul Cat's & then back to Cuban,or was that change in ownership?

Well Cuban Liquor in BR has been there for several decades. Did it take that long for the one in Shreveport to find out?

Changed ownership in 2012. My guess is that a top priority was trademarking

I heard the owners stopped liking the Cuban sandwich a lot, so they switched it up but wanted to keep a similar name for branding purposes
