What is the scam where someone calls and says your computer is sending errors?

Just received another call from "June" (thick Indian accent) that my computer was sending some error message for the past two weeks.

Before she got too far with her lies, I asked her for my IP address. Welp, that ended the call quickly as she hung up on me which of course is what I wanted.

Anyone else receive these calls and if so, what in the heck do they ask for and what's the scam involved?

The number came up as directory assistance in NY by the way.

June...lol...that's her Dell name.

I have been known to make things more difficult than necessary. Thanks.

I didn't think of that one. I did ask her if she would enjoy tying me up and having a little fun. That prude said no.

They get remotely connected with dumbass users' help, then load some malware that locks the computer and you have to pay them to fix it.

Most of the one's I've encountered have been Mickey Mouse bullshite that we cleaned..but it's possible for them to encrypt your files and you can't get them back without payment.

People who fall for this deserve it. You have to be a special kind of stupid.

Correct. They called me last weekend. I asked them how they knew what my computer was doing. In thick indian, he said that he would transfer me to his supervisor. Click.

I kind of regret signing up for the do not call list because I miss messing with these idiots. I would have so much fun with these people.

Do not call list only got rid of 75% of the calls at my new number. I still enjoy fricking with people. Asked a police union guy if he could fix tickets if I donated the other day

I get calls saying they are Microsoft and are calling about my computers. I tell them they don't take care of my computers and start interrogating them. I ended one call by yelling at them like Sam Kinison.

No, that is not what you should have wanted to happen. You should have ultimately wanted to have bed her.
