Moreover, the percentage who believe that Obama inherited the nation’s current economic conditions has dipped below 50 percent for the first time. According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, it’s just 46 percent of Americans. Although that’s only one poll, it’s far beyond the prior low of 56 percent recorded by the NBC survey. And nearly 50 percent is not that low considering that Obama has been in the Oval Office for more than five years. The percentage who believe Obama is responsible is also at an all-time high: 39 percent in the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll.

None of this data suggests that Bush is popular or should be trotted out by Republicans in the 2014 midterms elections. What it does tell us is that Democrats who try to tie Republicans to the Bush years may not have the same success they had a few years ago. Bush is much more of a neutral figure in the eyes of Americans.

At the same time, Obama and his fellow Democrats’ ability to lay the economic situation at the feet of his predecessor is weakened. By 2016, it’s possible that the majority of Americans will hold Obama responsible for the state of the economy.

I guess after 6 years you own it even if you don't want to.

Obama himself said that he would have everything turned around by the end of his first term, or else he didn't deserve to be reelected. For some crazy reason, the media didn't really hold him to that comment in 2012.

The truth is, he did inherit a mess.

A second truth is, he should've been held responsible for fixing it long before now. Heck, I would've figured that the economy would've rebounded on its own by now.

if things are going well by 2016, I guess the Left will start making plans to carve a likeness of Obama into Mt. Rushmore.

Ha ha....well, I remember Uncle Joe proclaiming it.

Much like the blood moon we had a couple of weeks ago, I guess I missed it.
