Interesting LSU/Louisiana themed artwork

Saw this on a FB feed. Original handpainted Louisiana cypress knees. Artist is a Louisiana resident and LSU grad it seems. Don't think I've seen anything quite like this, but I don't get out much either

I've seen something like this before. Interesting concept. I think I prefer the cross section pieces better though. I just think they would be easier to display. The birdhouse idea is clever.

Got several at the camp that are at least 25 years old. A santa one, one that kinda looks like Peej and a few others.
