If you bring in a working reel you can get 20% a new reel. Also you can get an extra $10 off by texting cabelas to 247-365 (only good once). Also their Fenwick silverhawk casting rods are on sale for $59.99. I bought a Shimano Curado and 7' Fenwick MH.

What kinda shape do they need to be in? I have a 5 yr old citica with serious cosmetic damage that I would love to trade in on something new.

I had an old Quantam reel that hadn't been used in years that I traded. They told me as long as it's in working condition they will take it.

If anything like BPS, they dont even look at them. You walk in and put it in a box with all the other trade ins and they give you a coupon to use at checkout.
Pretty sure they say they have to be functioning... I think they have them cleaned up and greased/ oiled and used/ sent for some under privelaged kid fishing day or something like that (its been like 5 years since I read that somewhere...)

Also might have to make a trip down this weekend, missed BPS's.

Have to be baitcaster for baitcaster or spinning for spinning or anything like that? Is there any restrictions? Like can I take my shittiest cheapest spinning reel or spincast that still works and bring it in for 20% off a new one?

This is what happened with mine. I had 5-6 year old line on mine. They didn't even check it out before they gave me a coupon. Don't forget to get the $10 extra coupon.

I ain't got time to go but I sent it to my brothers. If either of them go I have an old silver max that barely works I'm gonna get them to bring in with the $10 coupon and get me something. Probably small spinning to stick on a ML rod for trout/wacky rigs

That's exactly what I had in mind actually. Rod to pair it with on my budget is the bigger question

What size line did you spool it with? Wonder if I should go with thin braid or not for these wacky rigs.

Ended up with a sedona 1000 and a fenwick silverhawk 7' ML. May switch it out for the sellus if I don't like the feel.

Sounds good if someone is looking to outfit a big boat
