I think Warner Bros is trying to expose him to a different demographic. He doesn't need to do this.

To be fair the album itself is half great half top 40 trash, so it isn't that weird.

Yeah. It just sounds awkward.

ETA: The more I listen the worse it gets. It is like they just said "oh we have a black guy! better throw in some rap!" Doesn't really mesh well.
