Something weird happened to my girlfriend today at work

My girlfriend just got home and she told me that she got into an argument with her boss today and at the end of it, he told her "go frick yourself." This was in front of other people. She has always mentioned his temper, but I think this is a little out of hand. She was a little put off by it, but she didn't seem overly upset. They have had arguments before, but he has never cursed at her, especially in front of people.
I'm pissed about it and want to give this dude a piece of my mind. She has told me to stay out of it (I plan to do that, I would never jeopardize her job), but what course of action should she take (if any)? Let it go, or should she confront him and tell him not to speak to her like that? I don't want her boss to think she is a doormat.

Honestly you shouldn't do anything. This isn't a guy hitting on your woman, this is her boss. Just comfort her and don't make a big deal out of it if she isn't.

Her company obviously does not have an HR department, because the first thing she should have done was to go file a complaint.
