Perfect example of a useful frickwit that has too much influence on all our lives.

Has anyone proved that e-cigs are, you know, harmful?

Are these same dipshits wanting to ban movies and tv shows that glamorize smoking?

quote:

As director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Frieden has a ready-made platform for spreading his views about the dangers of vaping. During a visit to the Los Angeles Times on Monday, we asked him why he is so passionate about e-cigarettes.

quote:

“E-cigarettes are a tobacco product,” he said.

Actually, the battery-operated devices do not burn tobacco. Instead, as my colleague Monte Morin reported, they “heat nicotine, propylene glycol and glycerin into a vapor, which is inhaled by the user.”

quote:

--“If they get another generation of kids more hooked on nicotine and more likely to smoke cigarettes, that’s more harm than good,” he said.

--“If they get smokers who would have quit to keep smoking instead of quitting, more harm than good.

--“If they get ex-smokers who have been off nicotine to go back on nicotine and then back to cigarettes, more harm than good.

--“If they get people who want to quit smoking and would have taken medicines to think e-cigarettes are going to help, but they don’t, more harm than good.

--“If they re-glamorize smoking, it’s more harm than good.”

Ok, he has his opinion, but has no right to force us to adhere to his beliefs or even the CDC findings if I'm only hurting myself. Of course there is no real data suggesting that vaping is as dangerous as real cigs.

I guess he knows better than us about this stuff and is just trying too save us from ourself?

Obviously E cigs aren't good for you, but no way are they as bad as regular cigarettes. No tar, no smoke, no carcinogens.

I still smoke occasionally when I drink and prefer regular cigs. But that's because I like the taste of them with alcohol and it's not a nicotine addiction at all since i can go for 2 weeks and never crave a cigarette.

Dangerous like water. Literally everyone who has ever been exposed to even the slightest amount of water has died or is going to die at some point in their lives.

It's a tobacco product too.

DURHAM — When the U.S. Food and Drug Administration unveiled its long-awaited draft regulations for e-cigarettes last week, it quickly became clear that the proposal left several regulatory blanks to be filled in. That generated little surprise in more than half a dozen labs and research offices around the Triangle where scientists were already hard at work developing the data that will allow the agency to do just that.

Well, I think it's rather interesting to fund these scientists while giving them a specific goal to their research. Rigging the game.

I know! Just smoke pot! Lol

This is not about taking your e-cigs away. This is about taxing it as a tobacco product.

If e-cigs begin to replace tobacco governments will begin to lose big money.

My e-cigs contain 0% nicotine & I have the lab results for every cartridge to back that up. Why should it be taxed as a tobacco product if it isn't a true tobacco product or even a direct competitor of one? Big tobacco doesn't offer me a comparative product.

E-cigs have 0 carconogenics…nicotine does not cause cancer, everything I've read is everything in a vapor cig is completely safe, if anything had been found the anti- smoking nazis would be screaming from the high heavens, nothing has been found that i can find that is the least bit harmful…but if anyone can please feel free to fill me in because i use them. there are only three ingredients in vaps, propylene glycol deemed safe, nicotine and vegetable glycerin also deemed safe
