I spent about an hour last night getting ready for a half hour seated in my shower with the wife as a tornado passed over the house. Maybe six trees, all 4-6 inch smallish with the exception of one locked in other trees that I hope the power company will come out and take care of, down in the yard that I will deal with after the second row of bad weather passes by tonight.

So here is the question.

You may die tonight and you can't go out for dinner (meaning Taco Bell and Sonic Tater Tots are out). You must cook at home.

What would you want for dinner tonight if there is a possibility you'll get blown away before morning?

Copious amounts of booze is all I need. In the Air force I knew if the flight line was suddenly emptied there was going to a brief interlude between the out going bombers and the incoming nukes as it was a SAC base(B-52s).

ETA the petro-chemical corridor from NOLA to BR is similarly located for a ton of bad shite coming down.

I don't think I'd be too hungry, MD.

Glad you made it out safe. Hope today isn't what's predicted.

I'm a single guy so I would be screwed with your rules. It would be lots of craft beer and Mickey brown tamales & burritos.

I don't live in a tornado area so it would be a hurricane that kills me. Plenty of time to prepare for those so I'd have Glass take me to Clancys for my last meal.

I don't have anything in my fridge as far as food. I have beer & crown.

However that would be what I wanted to eat if I died after

I'd fire up the grill and put every meat I had in the fridge and freezer on it. Turn on the oven and burners cook whatever's in the pantry.

all you guys keep your pantry extremely well stocked for some of these last meal preparations

Taking his post literally as he states you can not go out, I assume that means no going to the store, fish market, butcher, produce stand, liquor store and farmers market before preparing my meal

so would likely cook all the meats I have in my freezer and make a glorious bowl of garlic cheese pasta using all cheese and garlic I have in the fridge. For an app I would toast up all the bread I have and make an olive oil spice mixture to dip it in.

Of course I would also attempt to drink all the beer and liquor I have on hand, which is more likely to kill me than whatever is naturally occurring outside.

Right now I have a pack of pork chops, some bacon, some eggs, and a shitload of craft beer. Need to go to the grocery store today.

I guess cook the pork chops in the bacon grease? Cube the pork chops and make a meat omelet? And then drink until I pass out?

Just enough time to kill a can of suds or six before becoming one with the universe. Maybe time enough for a fifth of Military Special if you had visited the PX liquor store that day. Back in my day, maybe $6.00 a fifth? $5.00?

Were you at Carswell?

We may have a winner here. We have a box of Sam's breaded Cod fillets that cook in the toaster oven and taste exactly how I remember fish sticks back when I was in the second grade. They are pretty good with no filler, just fish and breading.

Those with frozen English peas, cooked with potatoes in them and maybe a little mac and cheese and I should be ready to meet my maker.

This is my choice so far. Personally I'd hate to buy the farm after eating lobster or prime rib. (plus none of that stuff in the freezer or fridge) However good high quality fish sticks, peas and Mac would make me ready for anything.
