I hosted my avatar pic on photobucket.com and it is sized less than 30k. When I save it, the website accepts it yet when I go to my posts, there is a blank area under my name. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

You're saving the page as your link. You need to go to the page it's on, then on the right side you'll see "Links to share this photo"
Click the one listed as "Direct" and you'll see "Copied" (this copies it to the cliboard).
Now go back to your account here and paste that as your image link.
