When you go to the ice stations such as twice the ice do you take your ice chest out and use the 20lb ice chest fill option or get a 15lb bag then dump it in your ice chest in the back of your truck?

I just witnessed the latter and it got me wondering if that is common practice since I often see the empty plastic bags around the the ice stations.

Weak people can't pick up the ice chest after putting ice.

The one my buddy has at the camp is a pain in the arse! It's broken more than it works.

That's why I haven't taken the plunge. There are so many mixed reviews on them. You hear broke all the time or works like a charm.

I don't really remember, I filled my Coleman extreme 6 months ago and haven't needed anymore yet.

Think this is our third season with our's, we use it HARD during the summer. Not one issue unless we try to service 3 boats and beer coolers all at once.

Are we talking commercial ice machines here? Proper maintenance and it will run fine unless it is a lemon. I've got one that has been running non stop for 4 years right now.

Unless you use a helluva lot of ice, it's hard to beat the $1.00 per 20lbs. I had one.

As to the thread, I keep it in the bag as long as possible. Keeps better.

Cleaning them isn't hard to do either. Do you guys have a filter attached?

Yeah, we actually shovel ice into bags from our machine for the fish boxes. Makes it easy to drag it onto the top of caught fish in the cooler.

I pick up those bags everyone leaves and fill them/put in freezer too.

I started doing it when I had an ice maker. For them to make a lot, they don't freeze the ice as hard- as I'm sure you know.
