Well Drago's charbroiled are better than most anyone else's, so it may be worth it if you really like their particular flavor.

on the flip side, if you buy some oysters, its really not hard to try some different things out yourself and have them come out great without a kit.

Is this like a Besh Box?

seriously, try variations of garlic butter with lemon and parsley for color with some Parmesan cheese. There isn't much to it. To kick it up a notch, mince up some Tasso and mix that in too.

Well if he wants that specific flavor, why bother with trying things out when you can just get the kit that will all but guarantee it comes out exactly how he wants?
In theory he should then be able to replicate it whenever he wants.

i may give it another shot bc last time it was an abortion... tasted like soft bland hockey puck ... and i tried the receipe online that said it was like the originals...im may order 1 anyways just to compare because im curious....

At $2/oyster too. What a deal...

never bought the Drago's kit (includes 36 aluminum shells) ; but I did buy a dozen heavy grade stainless steel shells last year from Rouses for $29.99 and make my own oysters
these were baked in oven : butter/garlic sauce, bacon, 3 type cheeses, cilantro, scallions, etc... I use these all the time and clean up is a breeze

I have a set of those SOS shells, as well, but I haven't used them yet.

I never claimed it was a deal.

Nope
smoked gouda, shaved parm, and piconning
IIRC, that meal consisted of 6 shells with jumbo shrimp , and 6 shells with oysters , not pictured were the Rockefeller version
original recipe calls for parmesan and romano; however I often think outside the box to come up with new sauce/topping creations
