Alinea dropped from 7 in 2012 to 15 in 2013. Will be interesting to see where it stacks up this year.

The US got its butt whooped. As for NOMA being #1, maybe it's good, but it doesn't look like my cup of tea.

True dat, but perhaps the exposure lifted it back to numero uno. One of the requirements to vote for a restaurant is that you needed to have dined there in the past 18 months.

Some restaurant critic (I believe he was with a London outfit) described his meal at NOMA as being locked in a sex torture dungeon with Redzepi as the master. And not in a good way for you S&M folks.

This idea that one restaurant can be the best in the entire world is such a fantastic conceit.
