How many times have you run out of gas while driving?

I have run out once...many years ago.
My motto in life is basically "learn from your mistakes". Everyone is entitled to make a mistake once. To make it more than once is inexcusable.

Three times --
Once cause I was a lazy idiot teenager and the other two were related to equipment failure. A broken gas line on a 1983 Blazer (scary) and a stuck fuel gauge on my 1987 GMC Jimmy.
It sucked all three times equally though...

I never have, but in high school when I first started driving, I borrowed my older brothers car and left it on E and he left for work the next morning and ran out before he could get to gas station.

Seems like every time I drive my ole lady's vehicle the damn low fuel light is on. Surprises the hell out of me that I've never had to bring her a gas can before.
