On a 1-5, I give it a 3 out of 5... not sure what all the hype is, average sauce, average service, not much ambiance, no Italian music.

Is Mr Tony getting too old and not keeping this place in top gear?

I went for the 1st time this weekend and was disappointed. Expecting 4-5 stars.

Your thoughts?

The food may not have evolved with the times, but the service and ambiance are never an issue there. As for Italian music, I am not sure what this even means. But the waiters will often sing to the tables in Italian from time to time.

He's been too old and I think his health is failing. He used to always be in the kitchen but is rarely there at all these days. That said, the food is the same as it always has been. I just think people are starting to venture out and try more ambitious food than what TA is offering.

Tony fed me a couple times. It was all good.

After a couple bottles of Corvo it's all good!

I have been there many times. My wife and I even had our rehearsal dinner there a few years back.

Never had a bad meal and the staff have been great.

I guess the look of the place could be strange for the 1st timer considering it looks like a house in the middle of Lakeview. I don't really know what your are getting at with no Italian music as I find that as a good thing.
