I'm pretty sure the majority live on farms and in private ponds but every now and then they escape and fly over hunters. I want one to fly by when I'm hunting so I can put it on the wall.

wonder if they taste as good as woodies.

Awesome looking duck, would make a hell of a mount.

I know of a taxidermist around here that may or may not have a couple swimming around in his pond.

My buddy had one in his neighborhood pond in Mandeville, two seasons ago. Really wanted to pop out the truck and grab it.
Very pretty duck though.
I was reading about them and apparently they are seen on the west coast flyway.

In one of the original duck commander videos Jase shoots one I think. Beautiful birds. You can buy them pretty easily from anyone who sells ducks for private ponds, etc...

I remember one got shot at Pin Oak Mallards near Monroe back in the early 90's. Nobody had a clue what it was and thought it was some Wood Duck gone wild. Found out later what it was and somebody said they had them at the zoo and they flew around alot.

We raised them when I was growing up. One flew over the bayou to a neighbors pond and he shot it. He called my old man to find out what color the eyes were so he could get it mounted. Ha Ha.
Yes, he did tell him.

Dont we all.
It would make for an interesting conversation with multiple people in the blind that shot at it.
