And how do I fix it?

Spot is about two to three feet across, and I have a similar spot in the front yard.

I've already eliminated Yard AIDS as a possible cause.

Could still be dormant or it could be winterkill if you had a really bad cold spell. Should grow over pretty quickly.

Yes - but I've seen those spots and I spray them to mitigate the effects.

This dead spot and the one in the front are way bigger than dog piss spots. We bought this house in December and the yard wasn't well maintained, so I'd like to go ahead and get it healthy.

It will grow in, thrown a little fertilizer on it. It is very common this spring all over. Our winter was pretty hard on everything outside.
