iPhone 5c case

Need recommendations.
Must be sturdy, fit well, offer decent protection, and allow me to plug in my audiophile headphones without removing the case.

I have the otter box commuter, I like it. Hate cases but work phone as well. Might go to life proof, it's slimmer.

I have a lifeproof, works fine. Not sure if the case is what is interfering with my voice clarity for others on calls or if its just Verizon's shitty network lately in BR.
ETA: You have to have a headphone adapter to use any headphones - the case is so big that the plug wont reach and you can't just plug directly in.

Bought a LifeProof Fre for my 5c in December '13, the screen has delaminated from the case body. They are "getting back" to me about it. At $89.00 plus tax, not recommended, I did not abuse it at all, it has had a fairly easy five months. No drops, no water, I did not open the case since I originally put the phone in it.

That's my fear. Will probably just go without a case again.

What is it about the 5c that makes a usable case hard to find?
ETA: I have a iPhone4 with a tank of a Trident case and no problems.

I like my lifepro0f. I did have to buy some wireless headphones though.
