I'll be driving in from out of town twice a week this fall semester. My first class is in the Patrick Taylor building. Is there anywhere near here that I can expect to find street parking on a regular basis, or would I be better off getting a parking pass to one of the lots? I don't mind walking 10 minutes to class, but I don't want to deal with the headache every day if there's not going to be anywhere that I can count on nearby.

Not familiar with the campus. That's why I asked. Thanks.

are parking passes lot-specific now?....back when I was there (long time ago), there was no way to park on campus without a pass, but I don't think they were tied to a specific lot...

One last thing -- do you buy a pass for a specific lot, or do you just purchase a general pass and park where you can?

Unless there has been a change over the past 4-5 years, this.

Lucky for you the biggest parking area on campus is right across the street.

Yep. Get a commuter parking pass. You'll be fine.

No free parking near there that I know of. Get a commuter pass and park in the lot across the street. Depending om the time of day, you'll still have a hell of a walk.

The City of Baton Rouge has a wonderful CATS program. And there will soon be a trolley from downtown.

Feel free to park anywhere, get a latte, and enjoy these fine services.

So far they haven't mentioned anything about that lot when construction begins, so parking there should be fine. It'll be a mess getting through the construction zone from that lot though.
