Keep watching, I have hoped when we signed JJ that we would end up being ranked in the preseason.

When was the last time we were ranked in the preseason?

He's definitely got the recruiting part of it down and that is unquestionably the most important part of it.

No, no, no....YES! can overcome alot. Hopefully, CJJ adjusts well in the other aspects and we can maximize.

Was able to see Ben Simmons play a couple of weeks back and that dude is the real deal. Mickey and Martin are good, but this dude is on another level from that. Thing is Kentucky usually has about 6-7 Ben Simmons's.

But we're getting there!

Surprised as many Kentucky kids coming back next year.

Yes he is Lsu has the potential to be a solid team year in and year out.

If Mickey and Martin stick around for a junior season, LSU would have a scary talented team that would be ranked in the pre-season Top 25 without a doubt in my mind

If both of them improve on their numbers from this season next season I don't see them returning for their junior year. Esp Mickey.

Yeah, if they progress as they should, neither will be back. And I'm o.k. with that because it should mean good things for us.

The question is will Gray and Hornsby be as good as projected by some here? I think some here overstated the potential of our recruits coming in last year to help significantly right away.

Now, these two have more practical experience, but I would still caution expecting too much.

Now Ben Simmons in 2015, I think we'll be able to throw caution to the wind.

I agree. Martin and Mickey definitely had their freshman moments, but that's okay. That's what's supposed to happen. I think Martin's game improves a good bit heading into next year. The question will be who backs up our two forwards.

I think some of the other supporting cast of incoming freshman had some unrealistic expectations from both fans and coaching staff.

I think Quarterman in particular was probably mis-evaluated early on by the staff and insiders as being a bit more ready for this level that he was. I think they counted on it from the things I heard and saw early on.

I heard CJJ on the radio talking up the big kid coming in. I'm pretty cautious about my expectations for him.

On Gray, he will score but I think the new basketball buzzword....efficiency will be key for him.

And Hornsby, man...he's being talked up big time in some circles. If he can give us solid play I'll be happy.

And it will be interesting to see if as some think the issues with defense were all about size and personnel. I think they were much deeper and need to be looked at from a different perspective, but let's see how that works out.

Quarterman underperformed a bit. In all fairness, he didn't always play guard for his HS team though. I don't think the staff mis-evaulated him as a prospect, but he likely didn't live up to their expectations as a back-up guard. He'll be fine over the course of his career IMO.

Big Elbert will be a 13-20 MPG guy next season. He'll be a factor, but not on Martin or Mickey's freshman levels. From what I've heard, his weight is down, and he's getting in much better shape. I'm on the Hornsby pain-train though. He'll be a nice piece on offense for Johnny Jones, and will help fill the shooting void left by Stringer. Not saying he'll average 20 each game, but he'll give us a little versatility and scoring.

I think Hornsby will be solid ,he competes very hard and is a good shooter. The thing that jumps out about him is he works harder to get open than previous guards at lsu, kind of like marshall henderson and Rotnei Clark from Arkansas

I think his size will give us some versatility with a three guard line-up. Not to mention he's been with the program for awhile.

That's something that's been missing for awhile, so I hope that's true. I thought D-Mitch was good at that. He'd run that curl off screens as good as anyone.
