What "realistic" draft pick would cause the biggest meltdown?

On here and on SR?

When I say realistic, I mean players that are not MASSIVE reaches (3rd rounders), and no QBs or anything like that.

I say on here, it would be Kelvin Benjamin. While at a position of need, a lot of people on here just seem to hate him.

On SR, I think it would someone like Xavier Su'a Filo. They would freak out.

Top rated C at #27 wouldn't be a popular pick. Realistic after last year's draft, too.

Agree with Roby and Benjamin.

And Im not a Shazier fan and dont think hes a good fit for what we do. And Im sure some people would be thrilled with OBJ, but I just dont think he will perform like a 1st round pick in the NFL.

I'd have a mini-melt over a Kelvin Benjamin first round pick.

I don't hate Kelvin Benjamin he just seems to gain weight every time they talk about him. Hell he will be 250 by the time training camp opens. Also I hear they might suggest moving him TE by some people on tv.

I think most know my stance on Shazier. It would NOT be pretty.

I also don't like Roby or Fuller.

With Benjamin I wouldn't be ecstatic, but you'd have to embrace his boom/bust potential and hope the structure and leadership of this organization could unlock him. The physical skills are undeniable.

I'd even say a Center in the 2nd would cause a lot to melt down as well. We don't know just how high the team is on Lelito, but I'm almost willing to bet that if we don't trade up in the 1st(using extra picks), that a Center at 58 will be the pick.

I dont think that many people flat out did not want KV. Most people were just very high on Jarvis Jones.

And we were switching to the 3-4, and when you think 3-4 you think edge pass rusher / wreck havoc on the edge kinda guy, ala Jarvis Jones. We didnt know how some of our guys would do switching over to the 3-4 OLB, like Galette, Smith, Jordan, Hicks, etc. They ended up transitioning very well at that spot. But it was still a mystery to all of us that arent taking in practice and meetings and all that.

That said, the staff most DEF made the right pick in KV And I still think Jarvis Jones will be a good NFL edge rusher. But KV has the potential to be 1 of the best in the NFL at his position.

That's very accurate.

I strongly remember people saying they absolutely did not want Vaccaro. I was all aboard the JJ bandwagon myself but came around to the Vaccaro pick quickly. Fact is, we don't know as much as the Saints do so I'll trust whatever decision they make for now and evaluate down the road.

Agree with all of that.

And, again, we were switching to the 3-4, and when you think 3-4 you think edge pass rusher / wreck havoc on the edge kinda guy, ala Jarvis Jones. We didnt know how some of our guys would do switching over to the 3-4 OLB, like Galette, Smith, Jordan, Hicks, etc. They ended up transitioning very well at that spot. But it was still a mystery to all of us that arent taking in practice and meetings and all that. Obviously, the coaches know more. They are at film session, practice, workouts, etc.

I think when people realized more and more that we were losing harper/jenkins to FA, we needed to fill it sooner or later, it was a good time to fill it.

That is why I wouldn't mind drafting Mosley this year, we are going to lose hawthorne or lofton, may as well draft 1 step ahead if one player is in their mind 'better'

The thing about Jones was that he feasted on terrible offensive lines of Florida, Tennessee & Missouri to pad his sack numbers in 2012. It was fools gold. For someone who is a smaller OLB, Jones lacked that quick, explosive, first step you expect from an elite pass rusher.
