"Hot tamales are hotter when he's around." Really? Used to be somewhat clever but it seems like the writers are reaching at this point.

overall I still find them funny. I saw one recently about cinco de mayo that I thought was hilarious.

I posted this in a M/TV board thread about worst commercial a few weeks ago. The latest ones are HORRIBLE. Exactly like you said, they used to be funny and clever, now it sucks dick. The most recent one, which yes I completely realize is 'themed' around cinco de mayo, is almost painfully unfunny. The ones I can remember:
-He sat comfortably through an entire mexican standoff
-hot tamales are hotter when he's around
-mexican jumping beans ask him 'how high'
-he's been south of the border. all of them.
-he had you at hola.
The last one is what infuriates me the most. a)they try to get cutesy and incorporate a movie quote that has no context at all
b)oh, well, don't worry fellow ad execs, this will work because we're substituting in a spanish word so it makes sense. Frick off.
c)Let's assume for a minute that it did make sense...why would that be evidence to point out that this person is the most interesting man in the world? It doesn't. It doesn't make any fricking sense and I hate it.

How can you find that commercial funny? It is lame. I have never liked that commercial. I thought that he looked like a bum.
