I think very few companies will qualify for that rate. I'm visiting family in NorCal, and the local news said most large companies will have have their tax rates increased. The current corporate tax rate is 8.84%.

Would enjoy watching it happen. Louisiana could steal some businesses away.

Another stupid idea from the West Coast.

I love this idea for California. All the best ceos would leave the state and the corporations would follow.
ETA: Actually, probably the cost would just get passed on to consumers.

Could the companies cut their CEO salaries to $0 and compensate them with stock options? Leaving a negative CEO to median worker compensation ratio? Then the state would have to make up the lost revenue from the coffers they've built extracted "fees" from energy companies?

I have a feeling Austin's tech sector is about to experience even more growth.

Hopefully the newly transplanted will take this type of nonsense to heart when they face the screams of the "Turn Texas Blue" crowd.

quote:You are dreaming if you think the heads of California businesses will look twice at Louisiana. They will laugh at the infrastructure in Louisiana. They will be repulsed by the poor quality of the work force. The only way they would come to Louisiana is if Louisiana bribes them with tax breaks similar to the film credit.

it will never work unless done on a Federal basis. Too many states would kill to take industry away from other states.
